Sheridan Celebrates Gets Moving with the 2018 Theme

The 2018 Sheridan Celebrates parade and festival will feature the theme, "Sheridan Celebrates Trikes, Trains & Automobiles. Both parades and the festival will be held on the last Saturday in September, the 29th. At the December Committee meeting, several themes were reviewed and the Committee chose "Sheridan Celebrates Trikes, Trains & Automobiles." Committee members always put a lot of thought into selecting the annual theme considering the needs of parade entrants, exhibitors and sponsors, not to mention creating enjoyment for attendees. The 2018 theme is sure to enhance both the Children's and Grand parade with a focus on trikes and automobiles. Local car and bicycle clubs are encouraged to enter the 2018 parade. And don't forget about the Sheridan Train, built by the late, great Ken Haraldsen. This little beauty has been in the Sheridan Celebrates Grand Parade for over ten years.

The Sheridan Celebrates Committee encourages parade entrants and festival attendees to rally around the 2018 theme, incorporating all kinds of transportation modes into their costuming and constructions. Tara Beiter-Fluhr, Sheridan Celebrates Mayor and Committee Chair, commented "Transportation impacts our lives every day, and it is changing in exciting ways with autonomous vehicles and smart streets on the horizon. This year's theme lets us explore our history with vehicles and dream about the future." So, start planning now so that you have everything you need for participation in either, or both, the Children's and Grand Parade.
