April is National Kite Month. Come fly with us!

Kite flying is an old-fashioned yet thoroughly modern way to connect people. It makes us think like a kid again, enjoy the sun on our skin and spring breezes that lift kites to the sky. Kite flying creates smiles and a release from winters hold.

As you arrive at Anderson Park music will fill the air and kites will fill the sky. An emcee will be announcing a multitude of activities throughout the day that are sure to please every age. Here are just a few:

Kite crafting competition for kids 7-12 in the Anderson Building starting at 8:45 AM the day of the event. Winning kites will be judged by city officials for prizes.

Extensive kids arts and crafts in the outdoor pavilion were enjoyed by hundreds of kids last year; a kids chalk art festival; parachute races; drawings for free kites; clowns; hula hoops; food vendors and so much more.

Bring your whole family but please leave your dog, wide strollers and coolers at home.
