Palisade Welcomes You & Yours to an Olde Fashioned Christmas

Welcome to Olde Fashioned Christmas 2018. The whole town will be decorating and planning for an experience that will take you out of the hustle and bustle to enjoy holiday magic with all the sights, sounds, tastes and easy shopping. Visitors will find holiday shopping a pleasure with the combination of craft vendor booths and the unique and appealing shops in Palisade. Plan on spending the weekend with us shopping, sampling soups, singing carols, sharing a carriage ride, marveling at Gingerbread Creations, taking a walk thru history, spreading good cheer, and savoring the flavor of Palisade! Shop Local will be in full gear help support our local community. Craft vendors will be at the Downtown Marketplace all day on Saturday. Shuttles, provided by Hilltop will run all day from downtown Palisade to the Community Center and the Palisade High School. On your way out of town be sure to stop by the Craft Show at PHS to raise money for the Band.

It all begins on Friday evening, November 30th at about 5 pm with caroling by the Taylor Elementary Serenaders as they march up Main Street to the Town Plaza to light the town tree. Warm up with hot cocoa and coffee on the plaza or purchase a cup of soup from Altrusia's Cup of Warmth at the Slice of Life Bakery. The Parade of Lights will follow at 5:30 pm with floats, bands, horses, fire trucks, buggies, and of course Santa! Before you leave drop off your Gingerbread Creation at the Community Center between 4pm 7pm.

Be sure to come back on Saturday morning. The Festivities are from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm December 1st. DON'T FORGET TO STOP BY AND SAMPLE AND JUDGE YOUR FAVORITE SOUP @ the SOUP CHALLENGE between 1 pm and 3 pm. Music at the Methodist Church and at the Seventh Day Adventist Church next door will entertain and delight. The Nativity Set Collection is on display at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. This year the Soup Challenge will be located at the Marketplace Downtown. Story telling at the library and Historical walking tours to entertain young and old.

If you haven't already, plan to drop your Gingerbread Creation at the Community Center between 7:30 am and 9:30 am. The showcase is open for viewing from 11am 4pm. Meet the gingerbread man and lady and sit a spell downstairs at Santa's Gingerbread Workshop where the kids can make a craft ornament and decorate a gingerbread house cookie baked by the elfs at Community Hospital and the best part is they get to take them home. Santa will be there to get your Christmas lists.

The Annual Rotary Silent Auction will have items for bid, located at the Palisade Chamber of Commerce office at 305 Main Street. Check out the many items donated by local merchants from dining certificates, warm alpaca items, night stays, jewelry and so much more. Proceeds from the auction will benefit many of the area projects sponsored by the Palisade Sunrise Rotary Club.

Parade, cookies, music, Santa, Crafts, and more! It's a Palisade tradition.
